digital shades vol 1

pernah suatu malam saya setel CD digital shades vol 1 nya M83 hanya untuk relaksasi pikiran sebab saat itu keping CD dan lagu-lagu tersebut adalah salah satu album yang musik-musik di dalamnya bisa saya acuhkan. namun setelah beberapa saat mendengarkan dengan enjoy lantas emosi dan naluri saya berubah drastis, jika orang-orang memuja-muja "before the dawn heals us" sekarang saya baru tau, ternyata mereka salah. cinematic atau electronic avant garde dan bahkan lebih ambient dari kumpulan lagu-lagu nya brian eno. disini sangat tertata rapih seakan seperti terbang bersama pesawat unidentified flying object atau mencoba untuk terdampar di planet merkurius maka digital shades vol 1 adalah backsound nya. exploring music yang perfect, revolusi yang sangat sempurna dari anthony gonzales dan album sebelumnya yang orang-orang banyak memiliki CD nya (before the dawn heals us), seperti thom york yang mencoba untuk memainkan lagu-lagu country folk di hadapan para penggemarnya, namun tetap fresh dengan tidak meninggalkan ciri khasnya.

"Sister (Part 1)" is a transitory track, providing a bridge to another ethereal phase of soundscapes and galactic mysticism. "Sister (Part 2)" sounds like a downtempo Nine Inch Nails tune that never gets all the way off the ground. The album's closing track, "Highest Journey," is an exquisite crescendo that encapsulates the mood of the album replete with backing vocals, heavy, driving otherworldly synths and even a little sprawling guitar work approaching a nonexistent peak before subsiding to an austere piano outro that fades towards a black hole. Gonzalez has the ability to bend time and make 36 minutes stretch on for days. Shoegazing hasn’t been this enjoyable in awhile.
